Leaving Certificate Accounting
Professional Learning Experience Day 1
2026/2027
The new Leaving Certificate Accounting specification will be introduced to the curriculum for all schools in September 2027.
This Professional Learning Experience (PLE) will introduce teachers to key aspects of the specification, including its four strands, learning outcomes and two cross-cutting themes: Ethics and Sustainability in Accounting and Digital Technology in Accounting*. Both cross-cutting themes will be engaged with as part of this PLE.
The professional learning experiences will take place in local Education Support Centres between:
5th of October 2026 to 7th of December 2026
9.15am -3.45pm

*Important:
Accounting teachers are required to bring a fully charged Wi-Fi- enabled device (laptop/tablet) with them to support engagement with activities. These activities will require a device with a spreadsheet application already installed.
